Commercial People is a leading real estate/marketplaces platform which offers a great choice of commercial properties available for rent or sale in the United Kingdom. You can browse through a variety of offices, industrial units, lands and shops offered by the top real estate agents for companies of all sizes in the UK.
At some point, Commercial People decided to modernize their systems. The Software House was chosen to improve the frontend part of the platform. The main area of our involvement was to polish the existing service.

02 Solution
Once we’ve got access to the code, we’ve decided to properly review it. The application was written in React which is our favourite frontend framework, so we were able to perform code refactoring swiftly. The code review and refactoring were so efficient that we were asked to do the same with the services connected with Commercial People, such as Residential People.
After implementing the code improvements (we had four developers in the project at its peak), we’ve been responsible for thorough automated tests using Cypress. Finally, once we finished upgrading the application, we were assigned to develop some additional features such as the view of top categories, featured listing display and service provider dashboard – to name a few.

The feedback we received from our partner was very positive. Thanks to that, we strengthened the collaboration and we are still working together on the new features and further development. Commercial People want to open their services in other parts of the world and The Software House is here to help them grow and strive for more. The platform is believed to be opened soon on a dozen of new markets, including Australia, Canada, Egypt and Malaysia.
