On October 3, CBRE announced the most beautiful office designs in Poland, presenting Office Superstar 2018 awards. The Software House’s headquarter in the Old Post Office in Gliwice was chosen as the best among all Polish tech companies! Being the CEO of The Software House, I must say that this award is very important to us, as it simply means that we’ve got the best office for software developers.
The Old Post Office in Gliwice has been, since its construction in the 19th century, an important local landmark. However, during the last few decades, its condition has gradually deteriorated. Everything changed at the turn of 2018 when the building was thoroughly renovated and The Software House moved in, thus giving new life to the Old Post Office. The change which we introduced was noticed very quickly – this time, not only locally but also abroad. Office Snapshots praised the new HQ:
“1500 m2 of social and creative life, of modern history and green technology at the building of Old Post Office in Gliwice. That’s in brief what Zalewski Architecture Group’s project for The Software House is about.”
According to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 CE ranking, The Software House is one of the 50 fastest growing tech companies in Central Europe. And I absolutely agree that we are, as Office Snapshots calls it, “a global brand that is aware of global trends”. But, at the same time, TSH wants to build up responsible business. Values such as honesty and respect for the employee are crucial for us and it feels me with joy when I read that, according to Office Snapshots, those values are “carried out through the architecture of office interiors”.
Why is getting the Office Superstar 2018 award so important to me? Why am I proud of having the best headquarter among all Polish tech companies? Because in the software development business, providing your employees with an amazing workplace is one of the most crucial things. Forget about pizza days, forget about dozens of coffee machines. Yes, pizza and coffee are the “coding fuel” and we also cover that. But the most important thing is creating a workplace in which people don’t feel like at work anymore. And I guess this award proves that we’ve achieved that.
