A banking tech provider quickly scales the e-Wallet team to deliver high-complexity services in parallel

Fintech
Team Augmentation

A European banking technology provider partnered with The Software House to accelerate the delivery of a new cloud-native banking system for its e-wallet platform.

Our fintech-native .NET engineers supported the client's high-pressure delivery of the e-Wallet project: complex integrations, mobile-first onboarding, and core banking capabilities under tight timelines and evolving business requirements. The team accelerated parallel development of complex services without slowing overall platform progress.

Partnership goal:

To scale the team rapidly with senior engineers who could take ownership of key components and deliver under pressure.

SERVICE

e-Wallet Platform, Team Augmentation

Business context

The client approached us to support one of its key strategic initiatives, the development of a new banking system for its e-Wallet platform, a payment and wallet service operating within a broader ecosystem.

The e-Wallet platform provides accessible financial services, including bill payments and money transfers, through an extensive retail network.

The new platform supports a wide range of banking capabilities, including a mobile application, a core banking system, AML services, and integrations with multiple external providers.

The long-term vision includes deeper integration with the parent ecosystem's gaming and lottery services, making the platform a critical component of a much larger ecosystem.

Key pain points

The client needed to build and integrate multiple complex services in parallel, while requirements continued to evolve and discovery was still ongoing for parts of the ecosystem integration.

Given the tight timelines and scope, selecting the right senior engineers was essential.

The team had to move fast without compromising security, regulatory compliance, or system stability, especially in areas like onboarding, payments, AML, and credit-related integrations.

Solution

The main task

We joined the client to support the delivery of the e-wallet platform, focusing on backend and mobile development, system integrations, and end-to-end onboarding flows.

Our responsibilities covered:

  • core banking features,

  • payment flows,

  • external integrations (including credit scoring and BNPL-related services).

Team formation

The delivery team included the client's React Native developers and Quality Assurance team, working alongside our two senior .NET developers.

With no time to recruit and onboard senior talent, bringing in .NET experts with deep fintech experience saved crucial time and kept delivery on track.

This setup enabled parallel development across mobile, backend, and integration teams while maintaining product ownership and quality control.

Process

From day one, our partnership with the client centered on integrating seamlessly into its delivery organization and tackling high-complexity banking features in parallel.

We joined at a time when the platform's foundation was already being built, while multiple high-impact services needed to be delivered under evolving requirements. Particularly around integrations, payments, credit-related services, and regulatory compliance.

The collaboration accelerated delivery without sacrificing quality or ownership:

Tight alignment: Our engineers worked in step with the internal team using Scrum and Azure DevOps, participating in planning, refinement, and daily delivery routines.

Clear ownership: Senior engineers were trusted to own critical areas across mobile, backend, and integrations, ensuring continuity and accountability rather than task-level support.

As the system matured, we jointly expanded the platform’s scope to cover:

  • Mobile-first customer onboarding

  • Core banking (account creation and management)

  • Electronic banking services

  • P2P, SEPA

  • Debit card issuing and management

  • Account top-ups via external providers

  • Google Pay and Apple Pay integrations

  • Integrations with ERP systems, credit scoring services, AML providers, and CESOP reporting

  • Back-office system

  • Helpdesk and Customer 360 tooling

  • Open Banking, PSD2, and antifraud services.

Throughout delivery, the team handled change requests continuously as the platform's business needs became clearer, without slowing momentum or compromising architectural consistency.

By the advanced pre-release phase, the platform delivered full onboarding and successfully processed external bank transfers with AML validation in other banks.

Outcomes

The e-Wallet platform launched on schedule, with senior engineering support embedded exactly where it was needed most.

→ Mobile-first onboarding delivered under pressure.

A full end-to-end onboarding flow went live, built and shipped despite evolving requirements and tight delivery timelines.

→ Real money movement, validated and compliant.

External bank transfers now process with AML validation and settlement confirmed across partner institutions.

→ Core banking scaled without slowing delivery.

Account creation, P2P, SEPA, and IRIS transfers, debit card issuing, and top-ups shipped in parallel across mobile, backend, and integrations.

→ A foundation built for what comes next.

Integrations with credit scoring, AML providers, ERP systems, and open banking services now give the platform room to expand across the wider ecosystem.
