01 Challenge
Prior to creating Language Advisor, the founders have long run an Italian language school. It was back then, when they realized that the majority of students don’t have access to reliable information on what kind of tutors and materials they really need to learn efficiently.

This is how they conceived the idea for Language Advisor – a platform that acts like an advanced aggregator of reviews and opinions about teachers and schools from all over the world. It effectively works as a matching tool, meant to find the best school / tutor / content for a given student.

02 Solution
The Software House’s team was involved in the Language Advisor project at all stages of its development. The composition of the Scrum team varied over time and included UI/UX designer as well as frontend developer, backend developer, QA specialist and project manager. The goal of each sprint was to maximize business value, reducing and redefining requirements at the same time, all while working in close collaboration with the client.

The platform has a total of over 30 language versions, including English, Spanish, German, Chinese, or Korean. To make the process of translation more efficient, we used our own open-source tool called Babelsheet, which allows translators to work simultaneously, using a familiar spreadsheet-based interface. However, TSH’s involvement in this project was not limited to technologies. Our input helped shape the final vision of the project in order to arrive at a solution viable from both technical and business perspective.

03 Effect
While the project itself is still relatively young, the initial reception of the platform was very positive both by the client and early adopters. The platform already includes over 2000 schools, teachers and materials and provides support for over 60 languages, including as varied as Catalan or Twi (Ghana) – a testament to its global ambitions. The platform was equipped with all the tools it needs to materialize its monetization ideas.
